Transportation policy shapes the physical infrastructure of networks, transportation funding decisions, influences travel behavior of citizens, and affects the ability of businesses to reach their markets. Because it can take time to implement some policies and to realize their implications, ITRE conducts detailed assessments of potential long and short terms outcomes. ITRE policy analyses range from simple assessments to more complex projects that involve the creation of related deliverables such as computational tools and educational materials that support optimal decision-making.
