The Professional Engineering (PE) and Fundamental Engineering (FE) review courses are long-standing programs at ITRE, and are known for high quality at an accessible cost. Both the PE and FE review courses are Civil Engineering specific. Multiple time frames and delivery methods (online live, online self-paced, and in-person) are available to meet the needs of even the most demanding schedule.

Professional Engineering (PE) Civil Engineering Review Course
$795 including materials for self-paced online; $945 for live online and in-person courses
The PE Exam Review Course is offered jointly with the NC State University College of Engineering as a collaboration with the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering and the Institute for Transportation Research and Education (ITRE). This is a civil engineering professional engineering exam review course which covers depth topics in:
- Transportation Engineering
- Construction
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Water Resources and Environmental
- Structural Engineering (Depth review not offered)
Live class size is limited and students will be accepted in the order their application is received.
The NCEES PE Civil Engineering exam is offered with computer-based testing (CBT) with appointments on demand at Pearson VUE test centers.
Starting with the 2022 exams, an NCEES reference handbook and the NCEES-supplied references will be the only materials available for use during the exam. The PE Civil exam will have new specification and design standards starting in April 2024. Note that there will no longer be a breadth section of civil engineering topics, only depth in one of the five content areas. The 2024 Tuesday /Thursday Night Online and Friday/Saturday courses will incorporate these changes. The Self-Paced Online (On Demand) course will not incorporate these changes until early 2025.

Self-Paced Online Class (On Demand) $795
This course consists of online videos of lectures, along with online self-assessment quizzes and an online PE Trial Exam with video solutions. This course is pre-recorded and does not include access to instructors. Note that this course will not incorporate the April 2024 updated specification and design standards until early 2025.
Upon registration, the course participant will receive access to the online content, including PDF’s of the PE Review course, lecture videos, and practice problems. Access is available for a limited time period (approximately one year from registration date).

Tuesday/Thursday Night Online Class (Live via Zoom) | August – November $945
The Tuesday/Thursday class consists of 23 sessions on consecutive Tuesday and Thursday nights (6pm – 9pm) delivered live through the online Zoom platform, with access to recordings of the content available for 1 year from the start of course. This course is offered once per year from August to November. Two binders of the PE Review course notes will be mailed to the participant’s physical address provided upon registration. *Please note that registrations close to the course start date may cause notes to be received after the start of the course.*
Note that this course will incorporate the April 2024 updated specification and design standards.

Friday/Saturday In-Person Class | January – April $945
The Friday/Saturday class consists of 7 weekends of lectures (9am – 5pm on Friday and 8am to 4pm on Saturday) and 1 weekend of a practice exam and review. The course is typically held on weekends between January and April. This course is available only as space permits.
Note that this course will incorporate the April 2024 updated specification and design standards.

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Civil Discipline-Specific (DS) Review Course
$905 including materials
This review course for the computer-based civil engineering exam covers 14 knowledge areas: mathematics and statistics; ethics and professional practice; economics; statics; dynamics; mechanics of materials; materials; fluid mechanics; surveying; water resources and environmental; structural; geotechnical; transportation; and construction.
There are two offerings for this course:
Self-Paced Online Class (On Demand)
The self-paced online class is an online learning environment that features all of the components of the live synchronous online class, including recorded lectures and all handouts. Additionally, the self-paced course offers online self-assessment quizzes in each knowledge area, as well as a flexible start date.
Schedule
The entire course content is available upon registration for review at the pace of the participant. Course materials are available for one year.

Tuesday/Friday Online Class (Live via Zoom) | January – May
All 40 class meetings are delivered online in a synchronous online classroom on Tuesday evenings (6-9 pm) and Friday mornings (8:30 to noon) from January to May, and recordings are emailed to participants after each class. This review course covers civil engineering topics in addition to administration and test taking strategies. Participants will be contacted within two weeks prior to the start of class with details on accessing the live online classes.
