Carrie Gage, ITRE’s Director of Finance and Administration, started her career at ITRE back in June of 2016. Gage graduated in 1999 from State University of New York at Binghamton, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and in 2002, she passed the CPA exam. At ITRE, Gage is in charge of managing the research administration, finance, and HR functions.

What are Your Favorite Things About ITRE?
I really appreciate working in the environment of higher education. I like that the focus of my job is compliance and not the bottom line. And I value working in a university’s culture of open-mindedness and emphasis on innovative ideas.
What Can People Ask You About?
I love movies, walking my dog, hiking, reading, crossword puzzles (even though I’m not that great at them).
What Inspired You to Enter This Industry?
I was rolling off a global implementation project and decided I wanted to shift out of the for-profit industry. Coming to NC State was a good next step and after working here for two years in Contracts and Grants, I made the move to ITRE and have really enjoyed it.
