This research will provide an appropriate focus and balance in developing practical methodologies for evaluating the impacts of various work zone types, configurations, and work zone traffic and control elements on traffic flow on freeways/multilane highways, urban streets, and two-lane highways. The focus will be to deliver final products and analytical tools to support transportation agencies in evaluating Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) alternatives, assessing strategies to mitigate work zone impacts, and minimizing road user costs associated with construction and maintenance activities. The overall research approach will address work zone capacity for multiple types and configurations on interrupted and uninterrupted facilities, considering the broad range of work zone types utilized on the three general facility types, freeways/multi-lane highways, urban streets, and two-lane highways
