This report documents a case study of investments made at Piedmont Triad International Airport (PTI) in Greensboro, North Carolina, to support site development for Honda Aircraft Company, Inc. (Honda), and the fiscal return on those investments. The investments also include funds used for site development at a location on PTI property for Honda (for use by Honda as long as it remains at PTI and fulfills specified requirements). Fiscal return is measured in terms of realized and projected net tax revenue generated by Honda during the study time period. The annual net cash flows generated by the investment are calculated for the anticipated duration of the investment by comparing the funds invested with tax revenue paid. The present value of the cash flows is then calculated to arrive at an estimate of the ultimate economic return.
