Barbara H. Mulkey, PE
Barbara Mulkey, a native of Charlotte, received her undergraduate and master's degrees from North Carolina State University. Recognizing her skills in structural engineering, marketing and business development, Barbara started her own firm - now called Mulkey Engineers & Consultants - in 1993. She serves as president and chief executive officer.
Aside from running her business and caring for her family, Barbara also finds time to be involved - and give back - to the community. Recently, she served as vice chair of the Raleigh Convention Center Steering Committee. She is a past member of the board of directors for Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women and was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor to the NC Code Officials Qualification Board. She is involved in the arts, specifically the Cary Arts Council, and she serves as a Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church in Cary. Barbara is also on the NCSU School of Engineering Foundation and she is president of the board of directors for the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina.
Barbara and her husband Jim donate their time and money to the Alliance Medical Ministry in Raleigh, which provides medical services to the working poor. They live in Cary and have three children.
